The precious contribution of different cultures has enriched her both humanly and professionally.
She learned a lot walking absorbed by the unspoiled nature with her father, a painter with abstract Expressionist style, who also exercised the craft of leather goods manufacturer as well as painting and making exhibitions.
She owes her passion of painting, drawing and interpreting the world through a creative vision of life to her father – a rare inheritance transmitted since she was a little girl, often taking her to his studio or leather-goods factory. In her hometown she attended the first art schools, graduating in textile art and learning various artisanal and artistic techniques.
Her curiosity and the search for her true artistic identity led her to make various experiences in the field; growing up she refined and experienced handicraft techniques of leather working, weaving, knitwear, clothing, wood carving, costume jewellery and many more.
Melinda continued her education in the world of industrial design, beginning to attend courses at the Academy of Art and Design “Ion Andreescu” in Cluj Napoca where she studied the technologies of industrial design and acquired the necessary mentality for the processing. A few years later she moved to the University of Design “MoholyNagy” in Budapest where she studied fashion design, graduating from there in 1994. In 1997, after creating a project for the Italian brand Mandarina Duck in Bologna while she was attending a Master in accessories design, she is hired by the same company as a designer and moved to Italy, working there for many years also as a freelancer.
For years she has designed objects, always exploring new materials and technologies. Then, gradually, she returned to “rediscover” the world of leather goods and to make it an innovative use, exploited her various know-hows. Thanks to this openness and eclecticism she has worked during all these years as a designer with over twenty fashion and design brands such as Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Ports1961, Ferrari, BMW, S.T. Dupont etc.
She has also collaborated with universities and schools as president of graduation or tutor. She participated and exhibited at various exhibitions in the field.
She uses the professionalism and versatility gained in all these yearswith an eclectic style and mixes various technologies with personal and minimal touch.
